Corporate Social Responsibility
Making A Difference In Our Local Communities

As well as providing outstanding service to our customers, we also believe it is important to make a positive difference to the communities in which we work and live.

We take a personal approach to corporate social responsibility, supporting initiatives in East Anglia and the North West. For us, community support is about more than simply sending funds out to charities; it’s about taking the time to make a real difference, and our team members readily enjoy fundraising and being involved in local projects.

WNS Cares Foundation

The WNS Cares Foundation (WCF) was set up in the UK in 2012, with the aim to give back to society in the best way we could: providing quality education for the young and underprivileged. With this in mind, we have spent much time researching local charities that focus on promoting education, while also spreading our support further into the community for a range of other charitable organisations.

The funds donated by WNS Cares Foundation are raised by WNS Assistance employees. This is accomplished in a number of ways, including our weekly dress down days, during which our employees each donate £1. This totals around £7,000 per year.

Together Trust

The Together Trust is a charity that offers care, support and special education to children, adults and families in North West England and the surrounding areas. Its Ashcroft School facility provides personalised education for disadvantaged 8-18 year olds.

WNS Assistance has been working with the Together Trust since 2012, supporting the charity through a variety of activities, from dress down days through to Easter egg appeals.

We also provide ingredients for cookery lessons, helping the students leaving Ashcroft School to live independently, providing invaluable life skills and preparation for life outside care.

St Elizabeth Hospice

St Elizabeth Hospice is dedicated to providing specialist care and support for people in east Suffolk and Waveney living with a progressive illness such as cancer, motor neurone disease, Parkinson’s and heart failure. Their work is centred around an individual’s needs, which means specialist support wherever it is required – at home, in the community or at the hospice.

The WNS Assistance team raises money for the hospice in several ways. In 2015, staff members including members of the senior management team saddled up to cycle 324 miles from London to Paris, over the course of four days. Our team raised over £1,200 for the event to help the hospice fund its vital care and support.
